From the perspective of capacity dimension,the context window of large language model has expanded from the initial thousands of tokens to millions of tokens.In order to carry the super-long context,model weight parameters,KV cache and enterprise private knowledge base accessed by RAG retrieval framework,AI reasoning cluster needs massive storage space support.Relying on mature technologies such as QLC,the single disk capacity of enterprise SSD can reach tens of TB,and its large capacity advantage makes it the core medium for carrying such data.
 

On the performance level,the AI reasoning business requires millisecond real-time response,and it is strict with the storage random reading and writing ability and access delay index.Compared with traditional mechanical hard disk HDD and consumer SSD,enterprise SSD has higher IOPS and lower read-write delay,which can quickly retrieve model parameters and vector library data,efficiently carry high-frequency KV cache read-write operations,and ensure the smooth operation of reasoning business.
 

In architecture design,AI reasoning generally adopts hierarchical storage scheme:hot data is placed in high-speed memory first,while cold data and data exceeding the upper memory limit are sunk and unloaded to enterprise SSD.This layered architecture regards enterprise SSD as the memory expansion layer,and finds the optimal balance between business performance and deployment cost.
