In the real-time monitoring of power rail current,voltage and power consumption,TI INA226 has long been a common high/low side monitoring device in the industry.In order to meet the requirements of domestic substitution and pin-to-pin compatibility,GXI340,as a current and power consumption monitoring chip compatible with TI INA226,follows the 16-bitσ-δADC architecture and makes engineering adaptation in bus voltage,communication level and temperature range,which can directly replace the existing INA226 scheme.
First,Overview of GXI340 Current and Power Consumption Monitoring Chip
The internal 16-bit ADC of GXI340 continuously converts the voltage of VBUS bus and the voltage difference of VSHUNT across the sampling resistor RSHUNT,and directly outputs the current value in ampere(A)and the power value in watt(W)on the chip.The master MCU does not need to do range scaling and multiplication conversion,and the engineering unit result can be obtained by reading the register,which significantly reduces the firmware overhead.The power supply of the chip is 2.7V～5.5V,and the typical static current is about 300μA A..
Second,the measuring range of GXI340 current and power consumption monitoring chip
GXI340 can replace INA226,support 0~40V bus voltage measurement,cover most low-voltage industrial rails,server motherboards and communication power buses,and be compatible with two sampling connections:High Side and Low Side.In the full temperature range from-40℃to+125℃,the measurement error is less than 0.2%,and the temperature drift is controlled within 30ppm,which is suitable for cabinet-level energy consumption statistics and power health evaluation.The chip supports the mode of measuring only VBUS or measuring only VSHUNT,with the fastest single conversion time of 140μs,and the average number of times can be programmed to balance the accuracy and response speed.
Third,GXI340 current and power consumption monitoring chip configuration
The digital side is compatible with SMBus and standard IC interface,and the communication level can be as low as 1.6V.It can directly connect to the main control of 1.8V or even 1.6V IO domain,eliminating the need for level conversion chips.The device provides a total of 16 programmable slave addresses,and a single IC bus can mount up to 16 GXI340,which meets the parallel monitoring of multi-track power supply.
