At present,the global storage industry presents a significant structural differentiation trend,and the market development is uneven,and the DRAM track has ushered in a new round of pattern adjustment.The demand of traditional consumer electronics market tends to be saturated,and the growth momentum continues to slow down,which gradually weakens the pulling effect on general storage products.In sharp contrast,the rapid development of emerging fields such as artificial intelligence and high-end computing servers has greatly boosted the market demand for high-performance and high-capacity high-end storage,and promoted the steady growth of the performance of the original head storage factory.
In order to adapt to the new market development trend,since 2026,the global mainstream DRAM original factories have started the optimization and adjustment of production capacity and product structure,abandoned the traditional large-scale mass production mode,focused on the high-value-added high-end product track,and the industry resources have accelerated to the high-end field.Major original factories continue to reduce the production capacity of mature process products,focusing on high-end DRAM products such as DDR5 and HBM to fully match the explosive demand of AI computing industry.
In the process of capacity optimization,a number of original head factories clearly contracted DDR4-related capacity.Micron Technology,the industry leader,announced the latest capacity planning in June this year,and officially announced the plan to stop production of DDR4 products.The shipments of related products will continue to decrease in the next six to nine months,and finally the production will be completely stopped.This move has also become an important signal for the DRAM industry's capacity iteration.Not only Meguiar's,but also mainstream manufacturers such as Samsung and SK Hynix have successively upgraded their old production lines,transferred them to mass production of high-end products such as HBM and DDR5,and continued to reduce the production capacity of DDR4.
The continuous contraction of production capacity has completely changed the supply and demand structure of DDR4 market.At present,the demand for DDR4 in downstream terminals,industrial control,Netcom and other fields is still stable,and the market demand remains firm,which has not declined significantly with the reduction of production capacity.The imbalance between supply and demand directly pushes the price of DDR4 products in the spot market to continue to rise,and industry organizations predict that the DDR4 contract price in the DRAM field will continue its upward trend in the second half of the year.On the whole,the structural adjustment of DRAM industry will continue,the market situation of DDR4 in short supply will continue with high probability,and the industry as a whole will enter a new development stage of high-end iteration and spot price increase.
